Aroi Pub Resto
For some time now, East Pattaya or better known as the “Dark Side”, has been developing as a very sought after location for those who want to get away from the tourists. The new housing developments that provide a much better “bang for your buck” than in central Pattaya, offer more amenities and size for a far lower price.
Because of this numerous bars, shops and restaurants have sprung up to satisfy the growing demand of new tenants. Aroi Pub Resto is one such place.
Aroi Pub Resto
Aroi Pub Resto is under the governance of Peter De Kegel’s, and is a smart new concept for East Pattaya.
Aroi has a loyal following from its regulars, who enjoy great daily buffets that do not break the bank. Aroi also welcomes patrons who just want to take a rest and pop in for a coffee or a cool beer.
Wednesday’s sees an extensive International buffet, whilst Thursday leans towards the Mediterranean, Friday there are succulent plump mussels and brochettes, Saturdays is for meat lovers and also “Beef Night” and finally on Sundays they serve Sunday Roast Dinners.
Alongside the daily buffets is an extensive a la carte menu, starting with snacks and freshly made sandwiches, to an amazing array of starters at very reasonable prices. Included are hearty soups and crispy salads.
The choice of main dishes is wide, and includes meat, fish, pasta, pizza together with a complete authentic Thai menu.
Peter is serious about his food and as a Belgian he prides himself with perfectly cooked dishes and loves to create new surprises for his regulars. He also has a wide range of Belgian Beers which he is very proud of (Carolus, Kwak, Duvel, Kasteel, Palm Royale, Rodenbach and Monks Stout), Peter will advise which beer is best suited to which dishes and there are a few “matches” that will definitely surprise you.
Aroi also creates bespoke dishes, and Peter has formed a connoisseurs club for those that really appreciate their food. These dishes will all be based on seasonal produce and created around those ingredients.
Recent servings have been: Wild pigeon, rabbit and Argentinian steak, and Peter is open to suggestions if you require something different.
Hand made desserts are freshly created daily, so just take your choice of the delectable offerings after your meal. Popular regular desserts include: Belgian chocolate mousse, creme brulee, and rhubarb pie.
If you fancy a nice bottle of wine, then Aroi has a wonderful selection. Their wine cellar has wine for every budget, from 1,000 baht to bottles at 12,000 for that very special occasion. House wine is also available by the glass or the carafe.
