In this blog we look at one of the most popular restaurants in town, Momento Beach. Located on Thepprasit Soi 8, Momento Beach is easy to find and includes a hotel, pool and restaurant.

Momento Beach Restaurant first opened in 2013 after its relocation from Soi 15, although run by French couple Didier and Geraldine, Momento is not solely a French restaurant. It offers a mix of popular western European and Thai dishes.

The Ambience

For those that have been to Momento Beach you will have experienced a very casual and laid back atmosphere. Recently renovated the restaurant has two main dining areas, the first being a very well appointed interior dining room, and the second a more relaxed al fresco affair around the outdoor pool.

The lighting and decor outside is fun, with huge comedic cartoon figures mingling with illumining balls that change colour. During the day, residents of the hotel are using the pool facilities whilst snacks and lunch are served. At night the tables are laid for evening service with tablecloths and sparkling cutlery.

Momento beach is all about making dining fun, and the waiting staff are more than friendly, nothing is too much of a problem.

The Food

The menu at Momento Beach is extensive, breakfasts are served from 9am and there is a lunchtime set menu till 2pm.

One of the signature dishes of the restaurant are the impressive brochettes. Be warned these succulent meat towers are for hungry patrons and can quite easily accommodate two peoples appetites. Beef, chicken and duck can be chosen or a mixture of all three, accompanied by a side dish and a choice of sauces.

Another popular dish is the Double Carpaccio De Boeuf avec Parmesan et Salad. This succulent dish comprises wafer thin slices of top quality beef smothered in parmesan cheese and dabbed with pesto. This is impressive 300g meat fest is accompanied with a small side salad and is ideal for two to share as a starter.

Be warned portions at Momento Beach are large, for your first visit tread carefully as you can always request an additional dish if you still feel peckish. You will find value for money as the menu is extremely well priced, it is one of Pattaya’s best value for money restaurants.

No French run restaurant could possibly exist without a decent choice of wines to accompany your food, and Momento Beach is no exception. House wine is also available by the glass or carafe.

All in all, Momento Beach offers great food and drink, with superb and efficient service, at really competitive prices.
