In this blog we look at an old established favourite on the Pattaya Dining scene that is Pan Pan Italian restaurant in Jomtien.

The Restaurant

Pan Pan is easy to find, at the junction between Thepprasit Road and Thappraya Road by the big video screen, it has been a landmark on the Jomtien dining scene for around thirty years.

Pan Pan has always advertised itself as a restaurant that welcomes families, tourists and businessmen alike. The first Pan Pan appeared in Bangkok in 1975 and has been in existence in Pattaya since 1988.

Today the Jomtien restaurant welcomes Thai customers, expat Italians, tourists of every nationality and visitors from Bangkok.

Pan Pan make everything handmade, be it from the wood burning oven, or the chargrill, everything is authentic Italian.

The Food

Pan Pan takes fresh ingredients and do not embellish them too much in the cooking process and without excess in terms of sauces.

Many of the fresh ingredients include tomatoes, olive oil, onions, capers or milk, peppers, or also pine nuts, basil, and garlic.

Pan Pan keeps to Italian tradition, there is not a starter, main and dessert rather a primo, secondo and antipasti.


Antipasti is generally served before the main or first course, dishes include Parma ham, salad Caprese, prosciutto, and assorted olives.

First Course / Primi Piatti

The Primi Piatti generally includes pasta dishes of all sorts including: spaghetti with ragu sauce, tagliatelle with spinach, lasagne, penne alla pescatora, pasta with asparagus, spaghetti with mussels, spaghetti alle vongole and penne arrabbiata.

Second Course / Secondi Piatti

Pan Pan have a wide choice of delicious second courses that are both meat and seafood with plenty of fresh vegetables.

Dishes available: thin slices of meat with tomato sauce, anchovies with asparagus, pork chop, carpaccio of beef with rocket salad and parmesan, roast beef, salmon salad, Wiener Schnitzel, peppered mussels, mixed seafood fry, shrimp salad, panini, rice with meat and salmon steak with lemon.


All pizzas at Pan Pan are made in a traditional wood burning stone oven, and they follow classic Italian recipes.

The pizzas include: calzone with tomato sauce, calzone filled with spinach and ricotta cheese, calzone plain, pizza seafood again, pizza with mushroom and eggs, pizza Hawaiian, pizza Parma ham, pizza salami (pepperoni). Pan Pan is famed for its delicious desserts and authentic Italian ice cream. In fact Pan Pan has its very own pastry and ice cream laboratory were they experiment with flavours especially concerning gelato.

Some of Pan Pan’s creations are: Italian sundae, coppa gelato with fresh fruit, coppa with assorted flavors of ice cream, classic Italian gelato with pistachio and hazelnut, soft serve ice cream served with topping, ice cream without milk,and sherbet gelato in a shape of spaghetti.
