Pattaya Dining Guide explores the best places to dine in Pattaya, if you are looking for somewhere new and exciting to enjoy a meal then keep reading our blog pages as we are constantly updating them with new listings.
In this blog we look at Tequila Sunrise on Soi Chaiyapruk, right down near the beach. Predominantly a bar, mine host Tony has expanded on the food side so successfully that Tequila Sunrise is rapidly gaining a great reputation for its delicious and most reasonably priced food.
70 Baht Menu
A number of restaurants, cafes and bars are competing in the cut price breakfast war that is currently going on in Pattaya. In the hope of tempting diners in with cheap breakfasts made with inferior quality ingredients, they might may be able to persuade their other half’s to choose something off the al la carte menu.
Tony has a completely different marketing policy, he has a whole menu on a cut price 70 baht deal. This menu is available all day and every day, and as well as constant favourites such as liver and bacon, and full roast dinners, there are daily 70 baht specials including piri piri pork and chicken fajitas.
All these dishes are full size portions with vegetables, rice, chips or potatoes and are freshly cooked to order. There is also a separate burger menu that starts at 70 baht and includes all manner of options.
Al La Carte Menu
Besides the specials menu, Tequila Sunrise offers a full al la carte option, again it is very much value for money and offers succulent dishes at reasonable prices.
For instance there is Fishy Friday which has delectable dishes such as Tipsy West Country Style Mussels in a Cider Cream Sauce, or Oven Baked Sole with a Herb Crust, and Queen Scallops smothered in Garlic Butter.
You would not expect such an extensive menu from a simple establishment as Tequila Sunrise, and it is casual dining at its best.
First and foremost Tequila Sunrise is a busy bar, with an open facade that overlooks the sea. It regularly hosts musical entertainment and shows live sport on its flat screen TV’s.
Service is friendly and efficient and most customers chat together such is the ambiance, nobody’s a stranger for very long in this bar. Tequila Sunrise is also a guesthouse and offers clean comfortable accommodation that can be for a single night or for a long term rental.
Tequila Sunrise has no pretentions, it does not try to be something it is not. What it is actually, is a great place to spend a few hours having a drink or two and to pop in for a tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner.
It is also somewhere that will not break the bank, and customers can get real value for money. Next time you are on Jomtien Beach Road or Soi Chaiyapruk do yourself a favour and pop in for a cool drink or a bite to eat, you can catch up with the daily specials on their Facebook page.
