At the heart of the Jomtien Complex lays a fairly new kid on the block when it comes to Pattaya restaurants. Pattaya Dining Guide takes great pride in keeping our readers aware of the new diners in the city and Yupins happens to be one of those.
Yupins was formerly named Oleys and was a sort of Art / Cafe that served contented customers for over four years. The current restaurant was purchased by new management and exists in the refurbished site of the old Oleys.
The focus is on value for money European food as well as Thai Southern and Issan dishes, expertly prepared by Thai chefs. There is a fine selection of beers, wines and spirits to complement the food, with the wines mainly coming from the New World.
Depending on the season, Yupins offers two set menus, one consisting of three courses and the other a larger five course selection.
The amazing value for money three course special menu is an incredible 480 baht which allows one started, one main course and a dessert.
The starters offer five selections: Grilled shrimp salad, smoked salmon salad, salad Nicoise, grilled chicken and green salad.
Again there is a choice of five mouthwatering main dishes including: Pork fillet medallions, grilled red snapper, pork chop, grilled chicken and spaghetti Carbonara.
To finish the meal there is a choice between mixed fruit, ice cream, mango mousse, sweet mango and sticky rice and chocolate chip ice cream.
Yupins offer their diners a choice how spicy they want their Thai food and if their salt and sugar preferences. Cooked authentic Thai style, the dishes offer the best Issan and Southern Thai cuisine.
- Stir Fry Dishes – khao pad goong sapalot, pad pak ruum mit, gai tort gatiem prik tai.
- Deep Fry Dishes – pla pad brio wan, pla tort prik tai dam, gaeng pa pla, tom yum talay.
- Curry – penang moo ruu gai, gaeng kheow wan gai, gaeng ped pet lom quan.
- Spicy salads – yum talay, yum moo yor.
Yupins offer a varied European menu to suit all budgets, from a succulent fillet steak to an authentic fish and chips, there is something to fit everybody’s taste.
Norway salmon steak, grilled red snapper, fillet mignon, curried roast chicken, duck breast, florentine chicken, tiger prawns, imported steaks and lamb.
Everybody loves a dessert, and Yupins does not disappoint in that department either. Be it a refreshing fruit salad or a yummy sweet mango and sticky rice.
Sweet mango and sticky rice, mango puree, ice cream, fresh Thai fruits, banana boat split, ice cream sundae, platter of mixed cheeses, flambeed creme brulee, flambeed sweet bananas, steam pudding, hot sponge cake, hor chocolate sponge and hot chocolate lava pudding.
Yupins is not quite fine dining, it is a more of a comfortable and friendly bistro that sells excellent food with fast and friendly service.
